In this presentation, I compare Gone Home, an experimental narrative game to more traditional forms of narration in order to analyze how successful it is in telling a story. I focus on differences in setting, character, time, and action.
As a novice cook who just moved off campus, one of the most intimidating aspects of making lunch and dinner everyday is having to work with the ingredients. It can be scary trying out new combinations and having a dish completely fail. Personally, I have fallen back on 2 or 3 dishes that I am comfortable with instead of trying out new recipes. What I have created here is a visualization that shows every existing connection between different ingredients, the cuisine they are used in, the technique used to cook them etc. In this way, I hope to not only provide a way of comfortably testing new materials, but also a way to visualize how food differs between cultures and time periods.
Waiting at La Prima is an excrutiating experience. Any student could tell you this. As the best coffee place on campus, La Prima needs a system that is less aggravating and keeps not only students, but non-student consumers as well.
We propose and app and Bluetooth interface that queues and charges consumers orders in a more efficient and less space intrusive technique.
Sounds fill the world around us, and they influence us in unique ways. It can change how we feel, how we remember things, and even connect us with one another.
For our project we created a video compilation with an original mix of music, along with an original album cover created for this assignment.
The cover takes inspiration from each of the three songs. The mellowness of Mind over Matter forms the background. The groovy sound of Baby I'm Yours makes up the border, while the brashness of Stuntin Like my Daddy is expressed in our laser shooting faces.
The mix is composed of 3 songs chosen by each of our group members, and shows how although we all have different tastes, our
love of music is something that connects all of us.
In the video we showcase each of us engaging in our artistic passions, and also snippets of who we are.
