His/Her Head is the physical representation of one's emotional wellbeing. It is the creation of a small, intimate space, filled with the subject's personal item's and colored with the projection of the subject's current emotion through light.
When a subject is chosen, the program is connected to the subject's Twitter account, Facebook, Tumblr etc. to pull statuses/updates from the subject's profile. After a status is acquired, it is formatted and bundled in order to send to Sentimental Analysis software which evaluates the sentiment of the status. The status is evaluated as positive, negative or neutral and the color of the light responsible for the room's ambience is adjusted accordingly. If the status is evaluated as positive, the room turns blue. If it is neutral the room turns green. If it is negative, the room turns red. One of the most aesthetically pleasing parts of the installation are moments of transition from one emotion to another: the lights sweep across the room, creating a rather pleasing gradient as it adjusts.
The result is a den, a shrine, an ode to someone far away. Sitting amongst someone's things, having this room in one's house, is a constant reminder of how a loved one is feeling at any given moment
