Process + Procedure

[Outline your approach to the project. What steps did you take to design, model, sketch, and prototype this projects? What ideas did you generate and how did you refine or reject them? What challenges were encountered and how did you resolve them? Detail what you created. What methods or techniques did you use? What tools and technologies were involved? Include photos of prototypes, redesigned sketches, design worksheets, and failed trails.]

The design I chose was a plain cup, using multiple lofted circles as I could easily achieve symmetry and a nice shape that can rest on a flat surface. However, I wanted to make it more interesting by adding decorative handles. First, I tried to make skating figures as they have always fascinated me and I find them pretty. However, I realized I can not good at playing around with creating forms and modifying sides and faces.

After realizing that I would not be able to create a nice looking figure, I changed my design thanks to my teacher. I went for blades as it can be drawn on a plane and extruded out easily. I then added text and an extra pattern on the bottom of the cup by placing an image on the surface and splining on top. This was my final design.
