Asymmetry

For this composition, I try to balance the composition not by symmetry but by the forces described in Arheim and Kandinsky's readings. I changed the antlers so that the tips no longer point in the same direction, the colors vary, and the antlers are not centered at the middle of the composition. Instead of coloring the background in one color, I used a yellow circle to represent the deers but left the rest of the space blank. I had one pair of antlers to the left side and another two to the right, representing multiple deers rather than the one represented with the composition above. Knowing that objects look heavier on the right side of an image, I made the antler on the left bigger and darker. I also shifted the circle towards the left. I tried to make more movement in the composition by making the top appear heavier and breaking away from gravity. I found it really difficult to get a good sense of when balance is achieved, and I am not sure if my composition is balanced.
