Initial Ideas:

For the final project, I chose to create a visual composition based on the song How Far We've Come by Matchbox Twenty. The song touches on the theme of progress and destruction. This song personally has made me question both how my past has affected who I am now and how human progress as a whole has both positive and negative effects on our society. The lyrics ask "how far we've come" if today was the end of the world, but also suggest that we would not know until the end. To me, this song means that I should always reflect and think about if there are more that I can do to reach my potential before it is all over. I should also be more conscious about the choices the society makes and whether those will lead towards our demise. The song has a very strong rhythm and features numerous repetitions of the main motif. 

For the composition, I will try to take inspiration from Andy Warhol's artworks, especially with his Death and Disaster series.
