We conducted various experiments using these tools. We made our goal to bend a piece of metal in two directions. We did one initial test in the form of a bowl, which did not fully succeed. We did a second one which we cut slots into it and then focused on bending each section separately in order to make an extreme overall curve. We later realized that the aforementioned experiment did not accomplish our goal, so we made one last piece. This piece we focused entirely on bending in two directions and ended up succeeding. 


These tools were used in the past on reshaping crashed cars, on trim, and on molding. All of these uses contain a solid piece of metal. We were trying to use the same technique on a moving slim piece of metal. This led to three pieces being in motion at once and ineffective, misplaced hits of the hammer. We partially fixed this by affixing the dolly to the table with industrial double sided tape; This allowed us to complete the project successfully. We learned the importance of using the right tool for the right job, but we also learned how to adapt to the constraints of a certain material.
