Open Questions/Challenges

One of the most important questions we need to address better is the significance of the death shower and who the stakeholders are. We explain the concept of "kodokushi" but we need to spend time delving into why a death shower is a solution for that problem.; thus, one of our challenges was getting across to our audience why our project is compelling and needed 10 years from now.

The following are additional questions we would like to consider:

  • Now that the dying person has left a positive legacy, will there be a need for loved ones to continue remembering this person? Will this person be remembered for his/her positive legacy, or will the memory of this person wither away? The emotional impact this person’s death will leave on other loved ones is something to be investigated.
  • Will the family and friends of the loved one be in an appropriate mental state to be celebrating the past life of their loved one as opposed to grieving for their loss? How much time might they need? Will ten years be enough time to create this paradigm shift?
