I noticed that in all but one of the pictures with more than one person, at least one person was smiling, or at least making some kind of face indicating happiness or amusement. This lead to me to look at the mood of the picture. I counted a profile picture as "positive" if there was a smile in the picture, "neutral/serious" otherwise.
