When creating this piece I really tried to capture the warm and inviting colors of the painting through musical means. After researching the artist (which gained me almost nothing) and researching what key of music people liked the most I settled on the f key because it was described as " Complaisance & calm" and I wanted to capture the relaxed nature of the painting. I stared off with a one chord to introduce the sound and invite people into the music. I then continued with a simple progression. The intersecting part happened at the in the middle when it gets to the five chord. There I decided to try and implement the motion by using the "wah wah" effect in audacity. I decided to add it near the end because I did not notice the motion until I had more deeply looked at the painting. I then finished with the basic one chord again to remind the listener of the overall warmth of the piece.
The major difficulties I encountered with this piece was making trying to represent the blend of the colors with the sound. All of the colors of the painting blend incredibly well so I wanted to also represent that with my sounds. However transitions between tones in audacity is really rough. Also audacity interface is super bad and annoying so I lost time just trying to make the transitions less harsh. I spent most of my time playing with the fade in and fade out functions of audacity rather than making the actual sounds which was frustrating. Also it is tough when working with sound as I would play something that just wouldn't sound right so tweaking it to make it sound better also took up time.
