Even if you don't listen to as many podcasts as I do, you've probably heard of Serial. If you have a "friend" who doesn't know, allow me to explain it to them. A spin-off of This American Life, a popular NPR radio show/podcast, Serial chronicles the story of Adnan Syed and his eventual imprisonment. In 1999, high school senior Hae Min Lee was found dead. Six weeks later, fellow senior and ex Adnan is arrested for her murder. The case seemed simple enough: they broke up and he killed her in a fit of rage. Now, fifteen years later, journalist Sarah Koenig comes across Adnan's story and decides to dig up files and boxes and drawers full of papers about this case. What she finds is a mystery so convoluted, so muddled down, so distorted, that the lines between truth and fiction start to blur.
All of it can be found for free at the show's website
So I listened to a few episodes and cut out pieces where the host, Sarah Koenig, seemed to ramble a bit, confused by the whole situation. I then stitched them all together to make it seem like the semi-incoherent ramblings of someone questioning life and discussing to herself a situation to which we can only guess what it was.
