First of all, I haven't come up with a great idea of showing/creating a project about this topic, but this is what I want to do. Maybe create a big lie using media, or a video describing distorted media.
With the growth of mass media, we receive tons of information. This is a huge progress, since in economy, market failure happens when the information is know unevenly. However, some of them are fake or distorted. This is always the truth that a certain percentage of information will be fake ones. Along with the increasing amount of information, the amount of fake information increases as well. But those distorted information gets attention, since they are made to attract people's attention.
My mom always sends me some links saying eating broccoli can prevent cancer. Well, then why there are still so many people dying because of cancer. I hate the way people manipulate media to deceive and distort information. They manipulate one human's of disadvantages--credulity. People don't trust what is true -- they don't know what is the truth -- they trust what is seemingly good for them.
In an anime I watched recently (one punch man), the main character Saitama is considered a liar and a guy of snatching awards because he is a hero from nowhere.(which is reality he is a real hero who saved many people) People don't believe what he has done. Because of the spread of media, everyone thinks he is a liar now. (better watch the anime)
