My roommate Emily and I live in a two bed and
two bath apartment. We both have class at 8:30
in the morning on Tuesday and Thursday. Both
of us take showers in the morning, and we both
try to dry our hair after showering.
Unfortunately, our electricity system doesn’t
allow both of us to dry our hair at the same
time. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it is easy for
us to experience an electrical outage by
simultaneously using our hair dryers. In order to
avoid this problem, I decided to design a system
that activates the alarm on my phone when she
touches the hair dryer handle. She can also see
the light to make sure the signal is sent and
knows that I am aware about not using my hair
dryer at the same time.
