Product

Our team is building a toy piano. The piano will hold up to one octave of piano keys. Each piano key, when pressed, swings up a small hammer, hitting a hanging glass tube. Each glass tube is filled with varying amounts of water, so they will create different tones when hit.

The piano keys and mini hammers were individually cut. A hole was also drilled into the pieces for the wood dowel that would hold the pieces together. The mini hammers are two separate wood pieces glued together with wood glue.

Reflection

Problems encountered

Our original idea was a piano that would also produce bubbles. We had difficulty finding an already-made, reusable musical instrument to build upon, so our team decided to modify the idea to focus on creating a musical instrument. 

Lessons learned

We were originally confident in our design for creating the sounds
