Intention
I want to make food appealing in another way. When we normally look at fruits, veggies, we think about the appearance as a way to judge the taste. What if the appearance is recreated into something more than taste?
I am inspired by some designs that were inspired by Andy Warhol. Campbell Soup once had designs of their famous soup cans in a way that was inspired by Andy Warhol. They are not appetizing, but as artwork, it is a straight forward recreation of two of Warhol's art. I have also seen digital arts done by food images, creating scene that means more than just food. So I put the two thoughts together. What I want to do is a recreation of both meaning and appearance of common food, and create something that can sort of work as a promotion of itself. If spaghetti becomes the sea, is it going to be prettier than raw spaghetti on the background? This is what I am trying to find out.
Describe how you translated your concept into the outcome. How did you approach the exercise? What were the design choices? What challenges were encountered and how did you resolve them? What ideas did you generate and how did you refine or reject them? What approaches did you reject?
