Outcome

Intention

Recreate or mash-up classical artworks with video game characters from the last few decades to create a meme that offers political commentary on a major current issue. In part, the reason for taking such wildly different genres is that art in video games is still not quite respected in the wider art world, and combining and remixing the styles used in Classical/Renaissance art with characters from iconic video games may help to bridge that gap. Furthermore, many people have grown up with these video game characters, whether they played Chrono Trigger or Super Mario Bros. or the Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy, there are very recognizable character tropes and archetypes that can be applied very easily to the subject of political commentary.

I have not yet decided on the exact subject of the political analysis for the meme.

Context
