Dire Dire Docks is a theme from a level in Super Mario 64. In particular, this theme is very serene and very relaxing. I liked the combination of serenity with water that this theme has. I picked this theme because I felt inspired by its calmness, and I felt that I can manifest that feeling in a physical form.
I realized that, the best way to capture the serenity of this piece is through a medium that is known to be calm and relaxing. In The process of making this work requires one to be calm and relaxed throughout. I decided on Sea Creatures due to the underwater vibes this piece has. And I finally decided on the Japanese floral paper due to the Japanese origins of both this song and origami itself. I felt that this paper pattern is just really beautiful, and would look good in a piece.
This was my first time using origami! I really enjoy using this medium, but I found it hard to be creative with it. I felt like the piece I made captures the aesthetic of the original song! However, I felt that I did not have a good display of the final product, decreasing the piece's overall effectiveness
