Outcome

Intention

Write about the big ideas behind your project? What are the goals? Why did you make it? What are your motivations?

I wanted to make a tray either for my keys or some soap. I was hoping to make it pretty realistic. I love pizza thats why I made it.

Context

Describe what informed your ideas and your outcome? How does your outcome relate to other work in the field? What are the precedent projects?

I traced a picture of the pizza and tried to bring it to life in 3D form. This pizza didn't come out super well as there was an issue with the 3D printer. I hope to make another one that comes out better in the future. My clock came out much better than the pizza.

Process

Outline your approach to the project? What ideas did you generate and how did you refine or reject them? What did you research and explore? what were the design choices? What challenges were encountered and how did you resolve them?

I traced the outline of the pizza and then extruded the disk. I then pushed down everything but the crust and the pepperoni. Then I pushed down the pepperoni but not as much as the cheese part. I had a hard time getting the crust to curve properly and I ended up having to cut the corner and make it more of a hard corner. This might have been the issue with my pizza not getting printed properly. I could have used the circle tool but I thought that that would look too unrealistic so I decided to use the spline tool for the whole thing. This allowed for a more realistic looking pizza.

Product

Detail what you created. What methods or techniques did you use? What tools and technologies were involved? Include images, code or video.

I created a pizza tray with a depressed center to hold objects like keys or soap. I used the import canvas tool and used that to make the design. I used Autodesk Fusion 360 and NV Bots to use the printer to print out my pizza.

Reflection

Reflect on the process of making this project. What did you learn? What would you do differently?

I would like to do this again and have the pizza come out well. I learned that maybe I should use less abrupt lines and corners and maybe the end product will come out better. I learned how to make something come from 2D to 3D.
