Outcome

Intention

I made this project as a tribute to an RPG board game session I played with some friends earlier this year. RPG is called 'The Quiet Year'.

Context

Concepts from 'The Quiet Year' as well as experiences from our particular session informed my idea. The clock's functionality is less about functionality and more about being a reminder of the game. Before this project I made the laptop stand.

Process + Procedure

I started with some rough sketches which led me to deciding I wanted the four frames. The content of the frames eventually became what they are now. I then had to decide how to draw them, which I decided to trace images from online.

Product

I used Fusion360 to create a digital version of my project, inkscape to export it, and the laser cutting software to physically create it.

Reflection

I learned to not blindly trust that the laser cutting tools would work as expected. I ran into several problems while trying to engrave my project, so I had to switch to cutting the pieces individually and glueing them together. Next time I would integrate the limits of my available tools to my design.
