Problem Identified
I often call my long-distance boyfriend to chill and work together, or watch youtube videos or movies together. However, because I don’t have a monitor or any secondary display, I often have trouble formatting my windows so I can see both the video call and my work.
Proposed Solution
Sometimes I video call on my phone while working on my computer, because my computer can get laggy and overheat while working. However, it’s usually hard to position my phone so that it doesn’t get in the way of my computer screen. Mounting my phone on top of my screen solves this problem.
Process
I first searched online and on Thingiverse to see if there were any similar existing projects. There aren’t really any legit products for “laptop phone clips” in the market, and I only found a few models on Thingiverse as well. After finding a basic design I thought would work for my phone, I modeled a similar design (with the dimensions of my phone) in Fusion, then prototyped with the laser cutter to refine my design.
