Investigating different rotating mechanisms and using a slot in the design

Cut for a rotating slot mechanism. First prototype showed that the slots did not hold shape after heat forming and were not reliable. 

Inner and outer sleeve prototypes to test sizing after heat forming. 

Cardboard form used to heat form final outer sleeve prototype (and final outer sleeve shown in final assembly). 

Final sleeve assembly. The layering of the dark blue inner sleeve and white outer sleeve are meant to emulate the pattern of water when looking up at its surface. By rotating the sleeves around each other, the user can mimic the ever-changing motion that this pattern typically has.
