For my final project, I decided to make a pillow with laser cut letters. The fabric was first cut into shape as two large squares. The laser cut file was then made in the Fabrication Lab and one layer of the fabric was laser cut for the letters. Then, a piece of felt was placed under the letters and the two fabric pieces were machine sewed together around the letters to keep the edges from peeling up. Excess felt on the back of the fabric was then cut away. Once the felt was secured onto the fabric, the second piece of fabric was machine sewed to the first, leaving a small section unsewed so the project could be inverted and stuffed. After inversion and stuffing, the open section was hand sewn shut.
