ALIEN SYNTH

For my alien sounds synth, I decided to use the FM Synth section of the Retro Synth. To get the 'fluttering'-like sound, I applied a peak filter which was modulated by a triangle LFO. I also applied some vibrato to the synth. I made this sound a higher pitch by raising the "Harmonic" and "Inharmonic" sldiers to 1.

PERCUSSIVE SOUNDS

For the percussive synth, I used the Wavetable synth section of the retro synth. The percussive sound was created by a LPF with a large attack and quick decay Filter envelope. In addition to the filter envelope, I used an amplitude envelope with the same shape to create a "hit" rather than a sustained note.

PRETTY SOUNDS

For the pretty synth, I used the FM Synth section of the retro synth. I applied no inharmonic modulation and used a LPF (with a resonance peak) with a longer attack and decay. The amplitude envelope also has a long decay and sustain. In addition a LFO is applied to the filter to create a sweeping effect that almost gives the synth a vowel sound.
