Percussive
For my percussive sound, I chose the table section of Retro Synth. I used a large attack and decay, and a brief filter to create a very short rhythmic beat.
I used the sync section of Retro Synth for the alien sounds. I chose square waves, a low-pass filter, and oscillated between two frequencies with medium vibrato to create an extraterrestrial feeling. In addition, I had the amplitude envelope fade out slightly longer than one beat, so it overlaps briefly with the next note.
