For my pop art piece, I decided to create something that was inspired by Warhol's famous Campbell's soup cans. When Warhol created the soup can work, he placed dozens of soup cans next to each other and by doing so, made the audience think of the effect consumerism has on their lives and the presence of certain visual elements everywhere. Similar to that, I decided to draw Elsa from Disney's "Frozen" multiple times, in order to emulate the idea of "Frozen" being everywhere we look and Disney trying to capitalize on its fame as much as it possibly can. I kept the first eight faces the exact same and changed the ninth one in order to reflect what I believe is the same products being released every couple of weeks, while Disney tries to make it seem as though each release is different from its predecessors, like the ninth Elsa face. I think my biggest problem was that I hand-drew the two different Elsa's, so the color and shape look a bit off in areas that I didn't intend for them to. But overall, I think my piece successfully reflects Warhol's original piece, for it talks about consumerism in our contemporary lives, just as the soup cans had done in Warhol's period.
