Biotechnosphere Bathroom

The Concept

Speculatively, Humankind will someday transition from Parasitism to Integration with the Natural World. Nature’s Creatures will semi-overtake Manmade dwellings. We will reach a brief Balance in which they control our world as much as we control theirs. Our team will pre-create the first Humanspace to be ceded to the Biotechnosphere: The Bathroom. In the future The Bathroom will house a Naturefish as well as Humankind’s most shamefully Wild instinct : Pooping. While we will not include Pooping in our demonstration, we will display other mutualistic interactions transferred between the Humanbathroom and the Naturebathroom(the same bathroom scaled down to a fish scale).

The Design

A color sensor and basic circuitry will facilitate interactions. A Fish entering the Naturebathroom will turn on the lights of the Humanbathroom. A Human actuating the non-functional Humantoilet will activate bubbling out of the Naturetoilet. The Fish’s shadow will be projected onto the Humanbathroom walls as a reminder of its presence. It’s important to remember that the Fish is always watching.
