Fitbit, calm technology

Fitbit is an example of technology that is really good at measuring context and allowing this information to be available only when it's needed. When it's not needed, the user just treats it as bracelet. This is a very significant piece of technology because it a.) can be a very persuasive tool, even though all it does is show context about steps, heartrate, and other details b.) it's hopefully technology that is leading the way in recording information and only showing it when the user really wants to see it. The display itself is very minimalistic, and doesn't bombard the user with unnecessary information. Perhaps in a world of increasing noise something like this will encourage other domains to take the same approach and only show information that is truly usefu.
