Glasses Holder

Made by austinl1

I often misplace my glasses in my room and the goal of the project was to create an object in which I can place my glasses when coming back to my room. The object would have humorous aspects to brighten up my day as well as be functional so I would utilize it daily.

Intention

The idea behind the project was to make a humorous way in holding my glasses back in my room. I have gone through several occasions when I freak out thinking that my glasses were lost because I did not know where I placed them. With this new glasses holder, I will have a convenient place to keep my glasses in my room so I will no longer lose them.

Process + Procedure

I made this glasses holder by first taking a picture of a common glasses holder from the internet. I then sketched the holder through Fusion and extruded the different parts at various lengths. I realized that the holder would not be able to stand by itself so I created a base for it. I did this by creating an offset plane below my face. Then I drew a rectangle and extruded it. Finally, I used the loft tool to fill in the missing space between the rectangle and the face.

Reflection

I definitely thought that having a better design/planning phase would have helped me save time. I did not plan my project too well so I spent a lot of time with Fusion open and having to start and restart because I did not like the ideas I was coming up with. Spending 10-15 minutes brainstorming would have definitely helped me and ultimately made my project better.
