Skill Investigation: Crocheting

Intention

The intention of this project is to learn several different crochet stitches and then use these skills to crochet other projects.

Materials

- 5.00 and 6.00 mm crochet hooks

- yarn

Applications

Using the skills I learned I plan on crocheting a simple sweater (pattern is in resources). This is a work in progress, but here included is a photo of the front panel using single crochet stitches. The sweater will be striped with yellow ribbing on the cuffs and bottom.

Reflection

I really enjoyed learning more about crocheting, and trying a large project. The hard part of this project will be joining the pieces of the sweater together. And in the future I might use a different stitch to add texture or make it go quicker. As is I do plan on modifying the pattern a bit to give it more shape.
