Soft Fabrication Final Project & Samples

Intention

I have never knitted before and I have always wanted to learn. So, for this project I decided to knit a basic scarf.

Process

I went to a knitting store in Pittsburgh and the lady who worked there helped me pick out yarn and told me which size knitting needles to use. I watched youtube videos to learn how to cast on and do a basic knit stitch. My scarf is about 30 stitches wide.

Product

I knitted a scarf about 3 feet long, so I will continue to work on it to make it a bit longer.

Reflection

I really enjoyed knitting, and I would like to learn other stitches and how to knit more complicated shapes and patterns in the future. Some problems I ran into while knitting this scarf were that I occasionally dropped or picked up extra stitches. I think with more practice, this would be less likely to happen.
