This is a really cool idea, and I have seen some videos before where there is a big buildup to something which never ends up happening because the video cuts off. However, I have never seen a mashup of such videos so that would be pretty cool to see. Also, great idea to share it on Twitter. I look forward to seeing your finished product!
I like your idea a lot, it is really cool that you can think of something like this when most of us are trying to create something funny or something meme-like. I know that it makes people really uncomfortable when they don't get to see the end of something, so I think your project will still turn out pretty entertaining. I will definitely share your final product! Looking forward to it! Nice job!
This is a pretty cool idea. I think that removing the cathartic part of the videos will frustrate a lot of viewers. The reactions will be the key to making this viral and I think you're right about it being able to be viewed in bite-sized chunks. Your mention of that makes me think you wanna use Vine? Or are you planning on posting the whole video to YouTube and letting the viewer choose how to view it?
1. Clarity. This is a really clear proposal; I definitely understood exactly what you are trying to create.
2. Intent. The intent is really cool. I really like this idea. This would be something that I would hate watching; I wonder if it's actually possible to keep someone engaged through a couple minutes of this, because I would definitely just kind of quit after the first two or three instances of not getting something I wanted to see. I wonder how you could change your content to fix this? I
3. Material. I think it's pretty clear you're going to mix youtube/other location videos from the internet. I wonder if you could recreate some of the ideas yourself and film them? Maybe with your own twist?
4. Spread. I'm not 100% sure, but I"m guessing you'll post it on some sort of social media site.
I'm looking forward to seeing this!
I really like your idea, and I think you executed it very well! I found myself on the edge of anticipation from each clip, but the payoff of each clip never came. This causes a really strange feeling in the viewers- one that I am not used to feeling on the internet. In the age of immediate gratification, it is somehow strange to not be able to see the big culmination. I think it makes a great statement about how internet culture is today. Great job!
I like the idea you developed for this project. I think that frustration is something which could really easily help with spreadability because when viewers are frustrated, I think they are more likely to show it to other people so that others can be frustrated with them. I also think that this video was well done because it does just what it's supposed to, i.e. leave the viewer frustrated in anticipation of an event which never occurs.
This project made me so nervous and anxious while watching it, which is to be expected. One comment I have is that I don't know how i feel about each clip cutting to a black screen. It makes the video longer and it seems more discontinuous. I think maybe it could've been cool to try to link together all the videos (aside from their common anticipation-invoking aspects). I really loved your idea and I think it worked overall in your video.
