After a little experimentation with the piano typing, I created a simple cheerful tune using the Steinway Grand Piano sound. I wasn't sure if we were allowed to go into minor keys, so the cheerful tune came naturally through the C major key. I think you will find that my piece reflects some of Belkin's composition techniques in that the introduction begins with much ascending motion while the closing phrase incorporates descending motion. I found that while the quantization helped immensely, if my timing was too far off, it would push the notes further off to the wrong beat. Nevertheless, it was a very useful tool in making this project.
