Wow! Shia LeBouf is REALLY loud.
Opening serve: A good choice of audio meme. LeBouf has been mixed and remixed so many times there’s a lot of opportunity here to play on a familiar meme.
Responses: The violin is a really interesting addition tonally. It definitely changes the texture of the composition. From here the compositions get a little busy. I’m not sure they really start a conversation across media but instead experiment with the addition of new content. It would have been great to think more about the narrative being developed? How does the media relate to it and how is it intentional and purposeful. For example, why is the history of japan used as an audio track - how does it relate to Shia LeBouf?
It ends up feeling like a lot of audio jammed together.
It was a bit of a missed opportunity not to try to work with the LeBouf statements more directly. How could you add other phrases or words to tell an audio narrative ? The ‘Do It’ is a great phrase that you could push against in lots of ways.
A minute of audio is also a lot to work with and remix. Adding heavier constraints to start would probably have helped a lot (5-10 seconds is a lot easier to remix than 1 minute).
The documentation itself is really clear and I really appreciated the reflection you added too.
