Lines to Color

The emotion that I chose to convey and represent was: Anxious. It  something that we all feel- that we can't sit still, our mind is a little scattered and all over the place. I found that, of the three parts of this project, the emotion was the easiest for me to convey with simple lines and dots. Lines and dots were able to clearly show an imbalanced, on-edge feeling like other colors and shapes get in the way of.
The four images that I created for this emotion are (1) lines and dots, (2) lines, dots, colors, shapes, (3) symmetric, and (4) asymmetric.

My second set of images represented the Arc De Triomphe.

My third set of images represent a photo of a model from Moscow's Fashion week.

Final Reflection:

Even thought the emotion was the most abstract to draw, and the person the least, I found it easier to put the emotion to paper. I think that since it was the most abstract, I had no problem drawing whatever lines that I needed in any form to convey "anxious"- there wasn't a clear image that already existed that I felt the need to replicate. Drawing the person was more difficult. This was because, even though I clearly was not trying to replicate the person and create a realistic drawing of her, I still felt the need to accurately depict a person on some level - there was a greater sense of wrong versus right in the method of drawing. A realistic form already existed and it was harder to break away from that.
