Mapping Graffiti in Pittsburgh

Our team had to study the Graffiti in Pittsburgh. Considering the vast spectrum of graffiti, we came up with a question to began the data collection process. The question was what was the relation between murals and graffiti to the streets

The Graffiti's found in the three major neighborhoods namely downtown, Shadyside and strip district were divided into three categories - graffiti, advertisement mural and non-advertisement mural. It can be seen from the analysis that there was more graffiti found as compared to murals.

The number of graffiti are more in strip district and shadyside while downtime is dominant in  advertisement. 

Most of these are on walls while some can be seen on infrastructure like street light pole etc. It is interesting to learn that almost half of them are hidden in Alleyways and are of small in size
