I think you have a good idea, and should be careful with the execution. If you include too many songs playing over each other, it will sound too jumbled and the individual parts will not be discernible. If you only have one song playing at a time, it will just sound like clips from several unrelated songs. Also, if you need to find the BPM of songs to mix them together, this site is very useful: http://www.beatsperminuteonline.com/
