A Banksy-inspired piece that explores and reveals the truth of the National Rifle Association.
I am very impressed by the way you created this street art piece. The composition is very much like the style of Banksy and it carries a message to the public. I can imagine it is difficult to recreate the natural effect of spray paint on a brick/concrete wall, but it seems to have held up to that challenge. I appreciate your view on the NRA and the abuse of "blood money" and it definitely opened my eyes to the issue. I also am very intrigued by the fact that you rejected your first attempt because it did not convey the message you were trying to deliver.
I love the style of this piece! I think that it definitely uses elements of Banksy's work to make its own point. My one concern would be that the logo on the left disrupts the simplicity of the work (the bird is brown and I'm personally a fan of monochromatic palettes), but that's more of a personal preference. I like the dripping effect on "blood". It reminds me of those halloween bloody letter effects, but in a way that I think really fits street art. Graffiti gets to look a bit tacky.
I think you did a really great job with this project. I like how used Banksy's style to creatively convey a message you're passionate about, and worked to get the piece to a point you were satisfied with. I think you gave good context about the characteristics of Banksy's style, as well as your message about the NRA. I also think the documentation of your process was clear and understandable. I think the final product came out quite well, as the visual effect is pretty startling, and your message comes across loud and clear. I also like how you can see the texture of the bricks, and that you drew the boy yourself! Great job :)
I really like this project. I like how you interpret Bansky's pieces and use the understanding effectively to convey your own political message. The documentation is also very clear, and I also think that your second attempt was a lot better than your first one. The final product not only looks like a Bansky piece but also has your person thoughts. Reading through your thought process gives me a much better understanding of what the piece is about. My favorite part of this piece is the little child because he really evoked a strong feeling in me :)
