Intention

With this project, I intended to make a holder for various toiletry items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, and Q-tips. It is placed above my bathroom sink, and improves both the neatness and cleanliness of the bathroom.

Context

At home, I used to use a cup to hold my toothbrush, but the other items were always just sort of laying next to the cup. I sought to improve the appearance and neatness of my bathroom. I was able to do so with this project.

Process

I played around with different shapes for the different compartments, and ultimately decided on rounded edges to the holes. I wasn't sure what objects I wanted to hold within the holder, but once I decided it was relatively easy to design the sizes.

Product

I measured the dimensions of each of the items I wanted to hold, and modeled the piece in Fusion 360. I then 3D printed the object in the Ideate Fabrication Lab.

Reflection

If I were to redo this design, I would probably make the sides more visually appealing with designs. I would also probably put a small whole in the bottom of the toothbrush compartment to drain any water that may fall down into the compartment.
