Process
I chose a song I enjoy listening to. While listening to it I was thinking of various forms that I associated with the sound and then kept a list of the forms that I had the supplies to create physically. I was thinking spheres for celestial bodies, grids for the instrumental interludes and short stabs for its one by one notes. The overall steadiness of volume and music development I associated with a warm color. For each of these “categories” I selected oranges, metal ring punch out, thumbnails, and the pink inside of a notebook.
Reflection
This project had to be created within supply constraints so for this reason the 1x1 feet dimensions requirement was useful. I regret a bit that the question of availability was the main driving force of my project and that it was the limit to what I could create. I had to think within the parameters of the supplies available to me. It was also significant that the final submission was in the form of a photo submitted online. This allowed me to use a few more resources because I could return them to their owners afterwards. In fact, I did not commit any of the supplies I used as permanent components of the tangible translation.
