I am just wondering how exactly you plan on recontextualizing these scenes, as there are multiple different options, from changing the audio to the video to playing with cuts. However, for it to get viral, depending on what the exact cut is, you may want to consider the length of the video you want to create. Usually these quick edits are short clips, so having to work with a 2-4 minute long video may provide a challenge to how quick the edits can be and how each humorous beat gets played out. My 2 cents here is that you may want to check out the ending to CinemaSins's videos, which for 2-5 minutes the creator just cuts funny movie dialogue over scenes of the movie in question. That and you may want to approach the project as creating a super abridged version of a movie, which can also create plenty of opportunity for comedy.
