Juxtaposition of renaissance/romantic art and images of modern beauty products. Mostly I just wanted to draw something that looked nice.
I am very interested about your idea to make art out of skincare products. Since skincare is one of the heart of commercialism I think your product will fully respond to the modern consumerism. It might be a good idea to actually show the skincare product in your small pieces of art to show that the pictures are actually drawn by them. Using what already exists will be an extension from readymade move but in this case I think it would be an assisted readymade type of art. Hope to see your final product soon;)
This is interesting because I also heavily invest in skincare products. I really like the modern/classical juxtaposition idea that you had, making your own sort of style but also giving a nod to the classical artworks. In addition, I think it's particularly interesting, because classical artwork often features perfect looking skin and lighting, but life, in reality, is not like that. Maybe you could do something that looks like a typical commercial, but instead of using a model, use a classical painting or something, to really hammer home some sort of commercialism message/criticism on classical art message type. And maybe you should focus on just one or two different panels, instead of having a lot of different panels to draw the attention away from the focus of the project. Just some ideas :)
I enjoyed the idea behind your piece because it is something close to my heart. I also like your drawing style, and while you may see flaws with it, I can find none. The only criticism I have is what someone else has already said - perhaps frame is more like a commercial or ad of some sort and play on the subtle differences in imagery between modern and classical art to create a message. Don't be afraid of "appropriating" art and trying something new with Photoshop! Other than that, I like the image, and I feel the content and composition really drive the point you had in mind home. Keep up the good work!
I like this piece very much aesthetically because I like the color scheme and the figures. However, it might be better to add in some more messages into the piece or just elaborate on the idea of skincare products. I totally understand how time consuming it is to draw your own image in a digital way, and the final product looks very good with the amount of work you put in. Like other people have said, you might want to try "stealing" next time :)
