Your project documentation should:

  • Clearly explain and provide a succinct overview of the problem and how the proposed product solves that problem

  • Briefly describe the design process (iterations, refinements, challenges encountered)

  • Document the outcome itself (code, circuit diagrams, photos, design files, 3d models, video demonstrations, etc. as required) and provide a short narrative. A bill of materials (sensors, input devices, actuators, and other components) should be provided. This documentation should be sufficiently rich to allow anyone to repeat / recreate it.

Intention - YB

Currently people are so busy with their lives and works that sometimes they don't have enough social time. Everyone may have a friend he/she means a lot but hasn't been contacted for a long time. Under this condition, it might be hard to find something to say to start the chat. So we tend to find a way to help people make a more gentle and less stressful communication.

To achieve this goal, we want to design an ambient display which deliver people's missing to their friends. It should be less text messages ane more emotion hints. With this device, users can skip the process of thinking about the opening speech of their conversation but directly send their love to their friends with a single gesture. We believe it will be a good way to rebuild people's relationship and make them more closer.

0

Approach - YB

A description of the approach you’ve taken (e.g. a slow device or a ambient device) and a rationale for this approach.

0

Context - YB

Describe what informed your ideas and your outcome? How does your outcome relate to other work in the field? What are the precedent projects?

Situate the design proposal based on at least three references to past works. References to concepts, theory and methods introduced in class should also be made.

0

Conceptual Design - MK

Provide a high level design overview that considers and describes: what context it operates in ; what it does and how it behaves; how someone would or could interact with it; and how these interactions unfold to lead to the desired outcome? Detail your design proposal with a series of illustrations.

0

Storyboard

Create a storyboard showing the final interaction and workflow with the device.

0

Video

Create a short (1-2 minute) video illustrating how the device would be used. This should illustrate the intended scenarios, interactions, etc.
0

Process

Outline your approach to the project? What ideas did you generate and how did you refine or reject them? What did you research and explore? what were the design choices? What challenges were encountered and how did you resolve them?

0

Product - MK

Detail what you created. What methods or techniques did you use? What tools and technologies were involved? Include images, code or video.

Deliver a functional mock up of the device(s) prototyped using Particle. Document the outcome itself (code, circuit diagrams, photos, design files, 3d models, video demonstrations, etc. as required) and provide a short narrative. A bill of materials (sensors, input devices, actuators, and other components) should be provided. This documentation should be sufficiently rich to allow anyone to repeat / recreate it.

0

Reflection

Reflect on the process of making this project. What did you learn? What would you do differently?
