Write about the big ideas behind your project? What are the goals? Why did you make it? What are your motivations?
I took a design from my friend that I have always loved and turned it into a clock. I thought this would work well for this project because of all the clocks on the design itself.
Describe what informed your ideas and your outcome? How does your outcome relate to other work in the field? What are the precedent projects?
I took the methods learned in class and used them to print out this clock! I think it came out very well.
Outline your approach to the project? What ideas did you generate and how did you refine or reject them? What did you research and explore? what were the design choices? What challenges were encountered and how did you resolve them?
I imported an image and used the spline tool to outline the entire thing. I then took it over to Adobe Illustrator and cleaned it up a bit(deleting extra lines and connecting shapes that should be connected).
Detail what you created. What methods or techniques did you use? What tools and technologies were involved? Include images, code or video.
I created a clock that took a design my friend made. I used Autodesk Fusion 360 and Adobe Illustrator.
Reflect on the process of making this project. What did you learn? What would you do differently?
Digital Tooling (DigiTool) provides a platform for any CMU student to learn Digital Fabrication processes; all of which are very hands-on.
Like these processes, this class is also very hands-on. I...more
