Google Pedestrian bridge

This project aims to provide not only an active experience for google’s employees in the pedestrian bridge but also an interactive experience for those on the street, in this way people from different spaces can feel and notice the existence of each other.

This project aims to provide not only an active experience for google’s employees in the pedestrian bridge but also an interactive experience for those on the street, in this way people from different spaces can feel and notice the existence of each other. The project consists of three parts:

1. Projected Logo

2. Existing DMX lighting system

3. LED light panel (on the bottom of the bridge)

The google technologies and data that has been used in this project are Google Map and its real-time Transportation condition data. Depending on different traffic conditions, the color of the LED light both inside and outside the bridge will change. The passerby on the street will influence the color movement of the light on both the LED panel and inside the hallway. The passerby inside the hallway will influence the transformation animation of the projected logo.

3800 LED light bulb (Cover area 1368 sq ft): $380,000 (3800*10)

Six Infrared Sensor: $120 (6*20)

Transparent Projection Film (Cover area 280 sq ft): $600

Two Projector: $2000

Mini PC: $550
