The Sound of Silence, by Simon & Garfunkel

For this project, I made two recordings of a reading of song lyrics, one about 6 inches and one about 7-8 feet away. The closer proximity recording is much clearer and louder than the farther recording. This is expected, as my voice needs to travel farther in the latter case to reach the mic. In addition, the far proximity includes a slight echo effect from the small room I recorded in. Other than this and the volume, however, both recordings were relatively similar and easy to understand.

Okay, for one, I just wanna say I LOVE that song! I definitely liked the nearer one more. It almost sounded like a professional recording. I'm really amazed by how you had absolutely no noise whatsoever in your near recording. I think your further recording really captures the entire 'reflected sound' idea. As such, you chose how far you went well.
