Digital Reactor

Guardian Spark is an indoor guidance system for those who have trouble navigating through their home at night. The object serves as accent lighting in it's resting state, but then is activated as an interactive guidance system.

This device adapts simple vinyl blinds to respond to the daylighting outside to determine if sunlight should be let in. The window blinds were controlled to open or close dependent on the amount of sunlight that the receptor receives. Weather determines if the daylight condition will help promote a healthy interior environment. The project was developed around the idea that the visually impaired have the potential of experiencing a room without ever feeling the warmth of sunlight.
