I knew how I wanted to begin the piece—having chirps accelerate to a climax then introducing some sort of beat. I had a few issues that stemmed from forgetting how to reduce the background noise that was constant throughout my original piece—I believe it’s the sound of the wind. I remembered about halfway into working on this remix that I could use a high-pass filter-- a concept which I learned in the recording studio class last week. This got rid of the majority of the unwanted background noise.
The repeat function was tremendously useful. I needed to be able to use a sound several times, and the repeat function allowed me to do just that: I could simply repeat the chirps as many times as I wanted then manipulate them later, rather than copying a clip and pasting it several times individually.
