Portrait in Flesh

Made by James Monroe

To develop a device that one lives with that presents a visual representation of one's sleep patterns. This causes one to consider one's method of living.

The Portrait in Flesh records the owner's sleep patterns in visual representation. One lives with this representation, forcing one to consider their methods of living. Technically, it works by hooking up to one's alarm clock, resetting to a healthy representation at the start of each day when one turns off their alarm. The Portrait then progressively ages throughout the day, so the later one returns, the more grotesque the representation of oneself one must face.

Significant inspiration came from Oscar Wilde's 1890 The Picture of Dorian Grey
