Translation

The Nature Orb is an reactive nature ornamentation. It's clip-on base is easily attachable to tree branches, where its microphone sensor picks up the sounds of avian wildlife, alerting the decorative orb to glow in unison with the birds.

The earduino is a pocket-sized hearing loss prevention device that warns users and bystanders of harmful volume levels by flashing and vibrating.

The device will detect loud emergency vehicle sirens and alert the diver to move over to the side.

The design challenge for this project was to find a nonsensical ambient noise and translate that into a digital output (e.g. light, motion, etc.) through signal processing. For my project I chose to listen to tea boiling and translate the noise into patterns on LEDs that was expressive and reflective of the water boiling in a tea kettle.

Sprout is a simple kitchen table decoration piece, which aims to help users to become more aware of their habits during meal times.

[MID]NIGHT LIGHT is an installation targeting the midnight hours. The device follows the sound of your footsteps and illuminates your path.

When you’re stressed out, the Destresser is there to hear your tapped pleas and wipe your brow.

My project will result in the construction of a mechanized, reactive cat toy that can be used by a cat without any human beings present. Cats alone at home all day are provided with something to keep them busy and keep them company. The cat toy will also provide cats with the chance to curate their own playtime by experiencing how their actions affects other parts of the cat toy remotely.

The plant arm is a housing device for small household plants that allows for controlled watering on rainy days. A microphone sensor detects when rain hits a roof or rain gutter and triggers the arm to swing out.

The goal of Stertere is to help alleviate the disturbances that public snoring may cause on people nearby.
