As our world becomes increasingly more technologized, could our food one day become embedded with technology such that it reads, analyzes, and reflects our biometric data?

We were challenged to create a new form of interaction for the Lightwall installation at the Carnegie Library in Knoxville. Working with the Lightwall's existing API, we created and implemented a prototype using Processing and TouchOSC, and shared it with the library staff and kids. Then, the fun began!

Design and develop an application for the Knoxville Lightwall that resonates with the community in some way.

Lumos is a responsive lighting system to be used in combination with medical devices in patient hospital rooms. Utilizing input from pulse sensors and the time of day, the lighting system adapts to the patient’s physical needs. Lumos can unobtrusively create a calming light environment when the patient is stressed, or if the child wishes to engage with Lumos, it can interactively generate a dynamic light show to provide positive distraction for the child, helping to ease a stressful experience.

Emoto Pod is an interactive exhibit that allows users to sit down for 5 minutes under a projected "waterfall" of shapes that cascade down an overhead screen. With the aid of a Leap Motion device, the user can virtually run their hands under the projected waterfall. It is an immersive experience, which is experienced not only visually but also manually.
