Cast Party

In this project I learned about casting and making molds.

The goal of this project was to create an ergonomic grip that could be easily attached/dettached from a sanding block to avoid hand cramps during the tiresome phase of bodywork for groups such as Carnegie Mellon Racing, buggy teams, and solar racing.

The goal of this project was to use mold and casting prototyping techniques to reproduce a solid gripper made from clay from a previous project.

The project entailed using casting and molding to recreate a previously designed handle.

Working off of my clay model for my spatula tri-grip design, I created a casting mold that could replicate my design using resin as the final product's material. My spatula grip was designed for more ergonomic handling and comfortability.

The hilt is build for a LARP boffer utilizing a 1/4" double fiberglass core. Additionally, it's an exploration into resin casting and cold casting.

This project was meant to make a cast prototype of the clay drill handle that I made for the last project.

In this project, I wanted to create a more rigid replica of my clay tentacle handle through resin casting.

The goal of this project was to build off of the previously created clay flashlight. This is now a resin cast flashlight which was created using silicone molding.

Using the clay prototype of the umbrella handle design from my last project, I was able to reproduce my designed handle form into resin through molding and casting. My umbrella handle is intended to provide more support and ease while gripping. It is not only ergonomic, but also aesthetic as it is designed to be a duck.

This project is the casting of the clay grocery bag handle from project 2. The goal of this handle is to allow the user to carry heavy bags while dispersing the weight across their fingers and providing a more comfortable grip.

After making a new grip for a pair of pliers out of clay, I went ahead and made a two part silicone mold. After the mold was made, I was able to cast multiple plastic parts.

Use a clay prototype to mold and cast a plastic version in order to create model that can be handled.
